Week 9 Nightmares: Xavier Legette gets a chance to be Carolina’s man
There was some hit and miss on the Week 8 sleeper sheet. Cedric Tillman was a fumble, Bo Nix was passing and Braelon Allen had two scores and a touchdown. But there were no right answers for the Tampa Bay wideout, Rashod Bateman lost his way in Cleveland and Hunter Henry was the one who didn’t celebrate the Hallmark holiday.
Let’s see what we can find in Week 9.
QB Bo Nix in Baltimore (32%)
He’s lost in coverage due to the volume of other younger players, but Nix is putting together a very low season. He’s quietly put up the third-most fantasy points among QBs over the past four weeks, and now he’s committed to Baltimore’s defense (strong against the run, leaky against the pass). Even though Nix didn’t get any passing lanes Sunday, he’s always provided an impressive rushing game — he had a rushing score or a solid layup on seven of his eight possessions.
QB Joe Flacco and Vikings (12%)
Minnesota’s defense has done a lot of good things this year — it’s first in DVOA and three percent of the scoring drives. But Minnesota’s comeback was better than the recent games – in the last four weeks, the men in Purple have given up more than 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns. Flacco has an assist plenty from the Indianapolis lobby — Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and sleeper Alec Pierce — even if the Vikings force a few bad plays with a happy Brian Flores scheme, the Colts will hit at home. it runs, too. Get your popcorn ready for Sunday night.
RB Tyler Allgeier vs. Cowboys (37%)
It’s getting harder and harder to find the right defensive backs – players who are under 50% registered in Yahoo’s league – because modern football ideology says that your bench should be full of fantasy games. A number of attractive contingency options have already been taken. Allgeier is a rare starter who offers exceptional value; he’s amassed 35 carries, a touchdown and a two-point conversion over the past three weeks — and Dallas’ defense has been an easy carry, ranking 30th in rushing defense DVOA.
WR Elijah Moore vs. Chargers (12%)
Cedric Tillman was Cleveland’s boss for the past two weeks and that’s right, but Moore is still doing a great job — he posted an impressive 8-85-0 line on 12 strikeouts in a nice comeback win over Baltimore. . Jameis Winston filtered most of his targets to three wide receivers and tight end David Njoku; he is not afraid to take the deep drop and let it fall. The Chargers present a tough defensive challenge this week, a slower team that has a better pass defense, but Moore probably has 7-9 targets already in his back pocket. Chance drives many of our imaginative decisions.
WR Xavier Legette vs. Saints (23%)
There have been stops and starts in Legette’s rookie season, but he has found the end zone three times in five games and has three games with seven or more goals. With Diontae Johnson out of town, Legette has the inside track to become Carolina’s new goal hog. Unfortunately, those goals will be Bryce Young’s pass rushers, but at least the Saints have allowed seven points to as many opponents.
WR Parker Washington at Eagles (4%)
I’m surprised the market has been so favorable for Washington, who fills the slot left by the injured Christian Kirk. Washington posted a reliable 3-46-0 line on four goals last week, forced more passes in the second half, and Philadelphia’s defense is the 10th-best nightmare for opponents. accept. Trevor Lawrence has played quietly well over the last four weeks, posting 9.1 YPA and 109.0 rating, completing 71.9% of his passes.
D/ST Washington Chiefs to Giants (45%)
Washington’s defense was considered one of the worst units in the league at the start of the season, but the team has come a long way. The Commanders are seventh in sacks and their field goal percentage is close to the league average. Daniel Jones can’t go out of his way during home games, for some reason – his last performance in New Jersey started on New Year’s Day, 2023. Search Washington Sports Club forcing a few bad plays.
